Roots & Wings

I’ve just returned from a trip to California, and one of the highlights of my visit was time spent in Yosemite National Park. During my vacation, I also read ‘The Haiku Handbook’ written by William J. Higginson and Penny Harter, and so my memories of this time have become intertwined with my appreciation of Haiku and Haibun writing; therefore, I decided to write part of this post using these methods to share my experience.

Yosemite National Park Visit

Yosemite Valley, a carpet of vivid green folded out between grey, granite walls. Cycling past the picnickers, over bridges, past the sun worshippers and water tubers – past the photographers weighed down with heavy equipment.
